Great stuff! I'm using it for amarok now and it works fine once I get it running.

Not sure why this is but I have some trouble getting the thing started.

I have to run it from the command line before manually adding it to my panel or it won't work. Also, when I add it to the panel it will usually fail (prompting a dialog asking me if I'd like to reload it). After smashing that reload button a few times it usually sticks.

Can you get a backtrace by loading the core file into gdb? That might provide some clues as to what's crashing.

Hmm. And there aren't any other messages printed to the terminal? What you posted is actually normal behavior (aside from the warning about the missing Rhythmbox icon, which shouldn't actually be the cause of the crash).

It looks like you're using Python 2.5. What version of PyGTK do you have?

If you right-click the applet and open the Plugins dialog, you can select which plugins should be loaded. The default is all of them.

I just can't make it work, every time it crashes.
When debugging I get the following:
<code>DEBUG: GConf root is /apps/panel/applets/applet_9/prefs
Failed to open module at /usr/local/lib/python2.5/site-packages/musicapplet/plugins/__init__.py: 'module' object has no attribute 'INFO'
Failed to open module at /usr/local/lib/python2.5/site-packages/musicapplet/plugins/__init__.pyo: 'module' object has no attribute 'INFO'
Failed to open module at /usr/local/lib/python2.5/site-packages/musicapplet/plugins/__init__.pyc: 'module' object has no attribute 'INFO'
Failed to scan /home/wizzy/.gnome2/music-applet/plugins: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/home/wizzy/.gnome2/music-applet/plugins'
QApplication: There should be max one application object

** (music-applet:6081): WARNING **: Unable to load icon 'rhythmbox': Icon 'rhythmbox' not present in theme
</code>

Is there a way to disable the default loading of all/most plugins?
