Disaster of Loathing

There’s a lesson to be learned from the current Kingdom of Loathing downtime: you really don’t want to get “DROP TABLE” and “DROP DATABASE” confused. Especially when your last full backup was almost two months ago, the incremental backups have holes, and even that full backup wasn’t entirely “full.” Oops.

  1. Sounds like you should use a heretofore loop to save the day.

  2. I dropped a table on my foot once… it hurt… a lot. I think I would rather drop a database on my foot… so long as it was stored on a floppy disk and not a devoted IBM p5 595 eserver.

  3. I’ll have to start playing Kingdom of Loathing again so I can join the Ship of Fools guild. Now that quarter is officially finished with, I can waste all of my time. haha

  4. Amy: Don’t forget about those Firefly DVDs I lent you!
