Nah, I’m just messing with you. I know exactly what that means.

A week or two ago my printer decided not to work anymore. Apparently the paper feed no longer feeds paper, causing the printer to think it’s got a paper jam, even though there’s no actual paper inside.

I don’t print much out, and normally if I do have several pages I just go to a computer lab on campus (during the school year, at least) to take care of it. Which leaves my printer with little to do other than print the occasional credit card statement.

Fortunately, I was able to buy a replacement printer from a co-worker (in the loosely defined sense of “we have a common employer” rather than the specific “someone I regularly encounter in the workplace”) who didn’t want theirs anymore. So now, for less than the price of an ink cartridge, I have a larger, noisier, slightly slower, but functional, printer. It even came with a USB printer cable, which is good because I lost the one that came with my original printer, and kryten doesn’t have a parallel port. Looks like holly just lost one of his two remaining jobs.

So now there’s the question of what to do with the Epson paperweight. Other than the obvious, of course.
