It’s never too early (or too late) for the “welcome to my shiny new blog” post, I suppose.

Well, here we go. If you’re reading this, you’re probably wondering who I am, what I’m going to be doing here, and why you should care. I’ll answer the first two of those questions here.

As you’ve probably ascertained from the title of this blog, I’m Paul Kuliniewicz. I’m currently a senior at Purdue University, studying computer science and mathematics. I’m also a member of the Purdue Improv Club, aka the Ship of Fools. kuro5hin users may know me as Captain Derivative over there, although I can’t say I’ve really posted much of anything for several months on that site.

I could go on, I suppose, but if you keep reading whatever I end up posting here, you’ll probably get a better idea of who I am than you’d get if I continued to ramble on about myself.

Anyway. I’ll be using this blog, as is the custom, to ramble on about whatever strikes my fancy on any given day. Common topics will likely include the Ship of Fools, my upcoming participation in NaNoWriMo 2003, programming projects I do in my free time, etc. In other words, stuff I find interesting and that I feel compelled to share with the rest of the Internet.

Well, like I said, reading whatever entries I post after this one will probably better describe what this blog will end up being “about” than anything I’ll say right now.

As a final note, don’t be surprised if you see the formatting of this site change semi-frequently in the near future. Right now I haven’t done any significant tweaking to any of the templates. Later on I may do something besides the default layout, maybe not.

OK, this time I *promise* I’ll post more interesting content next time.
